Spring Cleaning Your Estate Plan

Spring is in the air and the warm weather has all of us in high spirits. While you’re doing some of your spring cleaning, now is a good time to revisit the way your assets will pass to your loved ones and the roles of the individuals you have listed to act for you in your documents. If some time has passed since you had your Power of Attorney, Health Care Directive, and Will or Trust prepared, you may want to reconsider the individuals that you have listed in those documents to act for you and/or to inherit your assets. Spring is a time for growth, and sometimes our loved ones mature more quickly than we might expect. Conversely, some of our loved ones may have fallen on hard times or may no longer be the right choice to have listed in our documents.
